Fittest School Challenge
Thanks to a sponsorship by the Obesity Coalition at Children's Hospital, we are proud to award $4,000 to area schools through our 2015 Fittest School Challenge.
The Fittest School Challenge is a competition between area elementary schools that awards winners based upon percentage of participation. Each child that participates in the March 28, 2015 Covenant Kids Run will earn one point for their school. We will tally up each school's respective points and divide that by the total enrollment of that school to determine their participation percentage. We will award prize money to the top ten elementary schools in a nine county radius (Anderson, Blount, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, and Union). More than one school in each county is eligible to win prize money. The breakdown and winning schools are as follows:

KTC Partners with Project Grad
The KTC has partnered with Project Grad, a national program, to develop Knoxville Youth Runs, an inner-city, after-school running program in Knoxville. The eight week pilot program at Christenberry Elementary School, grades K-5, will be held every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 4-5pm, beginning April 13th and ending Thursday, June 3rd. The activity sessions will last 45 minutes each. The Christenberry faculty indicates that we may have as many as 60 participants.
We need some energetic, enthusiastic volunteer leader/coaches to help make this pilot program successful. Upon completion of the pilot program KTC will be adding additional schools, so we need to prepare members to lead those programs.
