Mill House Classic 15k
Sunday, November 2, 2008

Once again the lovely Mill House Restaurant in picturesque Walland played host to the KTC's annual Mill House Classic 15k road race.
Elijah Shekinah and Ken Childs worked hard to ready the KTC's new Ipico chip timing system.
Moments later the National Anthem rang out.
The gun fired and nearly 150 participants leaped into action.

The blue and red lights of a Blount County Sheriff's Department cruiser led the way and kept everyone safe. The white-shirted racer in the distance is Andy Baksa, who smashed the course and Tennessee state records for 15k in claiming a significant victory.

Early on the women's race was led by former Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon winner Andee Cranford.
But after the turnaround, Kathy Wolski streaked past and powered away for the win.
Speedsters Jeff Day and Alan Horton finished second and third overall.
Patricia Smith was third place female.
Tom Dever (left) was top masters runner.
Jeff Colfer earned grandmasters honors.
Ace photgrapher Ethan Turner (red singlet) ran fastest among the Clydesdales.
Deb Sayer (green top) was fastest Athena.
The warm and commodious dining room was the place to be afterward to enjoy the bountiful breakfast fixins.

Everyone agreed that it was another delightful autumn morning at the Mill House to help celebrate one of the most beautiful and colorful falls in memory.

See you at Autumnfest!
