Tennessee Sports Medicine EXPO 10,000 and 5K
Saturday, May 26, 2007

Over a thousand runners assembled on Gay Street for the thirtieth annual running of the Tennessee Sports Medicine EXPO 10,000 and 5K.
Race officials and sponsors, including John Krusenklaus of Tennessee Sports Medicine, addressed the huge crowd.
A rousing rendition of the National Anthem followed.
The lead bikes were ready.
With the sound of the gun echoing off the brick and granite of Gay Street, the throng burst into motion.
Many participants were new to the grand event.
The multitude moved off down Gay toward the Tennessee River.
The postrace on Market Square was wonderful, perhaps the best part of the highly successful event.
Hundreds of runners and their families milled about the square for a long time after the conclusion of the festivities.
One of the high points was the honoring of those who have participated in all thirty EXPO races.
Thanks to the Knoxville Police Department for their assistance in making this year's Tennessee Sports Medicine EXPO perhaps the best ever.

See you next year!
