2012 I.C. King of Trails Race Information

This is a very rustic race. Although there are nearby gas stations, there are no toilet facilities in the park. However, there are lots of wooded areas. The cost is $10, and profits go to the track club's youth program.

The course has some hills, roots, rocks, mud, all the usual fun stuff you'd find at a trail race. It's all single track. There will be water at about mile 4.5 and water and gatorade/powerade at the start/finish, along with things like bagels, and fruit. The course will be about 7 miles.

The race is handicapped by gender and age, 5 minute head start for females, and 2 minute head start for being 40+ years old. So, female masters runners begin first (9am), then all remaining females (9:02am), then masters males (9:05am), and lastly all non-masters males (9:07am). The clock officialy begins with the last group. The first person to cross the finish line is crowned the I.C. King/Queen of trails. There are no other awards, but you will receive a t-shirt and there will most likely be a drawing for some prizes.

The race is limited to 100 participants, due to parking constaints and a desire to not overwhelm the trails. We could use about 8 volunteers for things like parking control, registration, aid station attendant, and finish line management.
