KTC Team Competition
The KTC Grand Prix Team Program is a series of races in the Knoxville area. Teams compete under uniform rules and qualify for race and year-end awards and recognition. Divisions for the 2008 season are Open, Corporate, and Women's.
Teams can be formed by corporations, small businesses, schools, other organizations or from groups of individuals who like to run together. There is no limit on the number of teams an organization can sponsor or number of runners per team. Participants are not required to be members of the Knoxville Track Club.
Eligibility
Open: No restrictions. Teams can be all male, all female, or co-ed.
Corporate: Employees and their immediate family members (spouses, children, parents, siblings) are eligible to compete for a company.
Women's: Restricted to female runners.

Scoring
For the Whitestone 30K, team scoring will be determined by relay team places.
For New Year's Day 5k, Carter Mill 10k, and Autumnfest 8k, scoring will be done according to cross country rules.
For all other races, each team's score will be determined by the cumulative times of their top four runners (Open and Corporate Divisions). In the Women's Division, each team's score will be determined by the cumulative time of their top three runners.
Registration
All team members must pre-register and make sure that they include the name of their team on the entry form. It is preferred that team captains send all forms together to avoid confusion. To confirm their race roster, team captains are encouraged to contact the person handling the scoring 48 hours prior to the start of the race.
If a runner is found not to be registered, and the scoring person is notified 48 hours in advance, the runner can be added to the roster provided he or she has been on the team before or had their name added to the roster via e-mail prior to registering them.
No changes (including switching of runners that are already registered for one that will not start the race) will be permitted on race day. All team members must pick up bib numbers at the pre-registration table. If it is not found, do not re-register. Check with your team captain and / or the scoring person to resolve the discrepancy.
Awards
Top four teams earn awards in each division at each qualifying event.
KTC Grand Prix Team Competition Awards for the top four overall teams in each division will be presented at the KTC Christmas Party.
Point totals for the Grand Prix Awards will be based upon the top 9 of 12 scores from any or all of the team races in the Open and Women's divisions. In the Corporate division, the best 11 of 16 scores are used. However, there is a limit on the number of divisions any one team / organization can win.
Points are awarded in each division at each qualifying event as follows: 1st place = 5 pts, 2nd = 4 pts, 3rd = 3 pts, 4th = 2 pts.
Results
Results will be posted for each individual race on the Website.
