KTC Grand Prix Rules

Eligibility

All members of the Knoxville Track Club are eligible for year-end Grand Prix awards. In order to qualify for a Grand Prix award, an individual must volunteer at least three Knoxville Track Club events.

Awards

The individual with the most points will receive the Hal W. Canfield Award. The 2006 winner was Marsha Morton. Awards 10 deep in female and male divisions will be presented at the KTC holiday party in December 2007.

Scoring

Individuals can accumulate points by placing in any one of the overall or age divisions. The points from the best 12 races for individuals are scored. If you earn points in more than 12 races, your best 12 scored will be used.

Some KTC events have races of more that one distance. In those cases, points will only be awarded for the primary race. No points will be awarded at the secondary races, including Strawberry Plains 10K, Knoxville Marathon 5K, and Expo 5K. No individual points will be awarded for relay events. However, points are awarded at the Knoxville Half Marathon.
